January Art Update

There was an art show last night in allentown

at 4th and tilghman, I believe they (AG's pervert shows) are every other month now and i plan on participating as long as the weather is kinder to me.

I took to starbucks after work on wed due to the lack of interesting places to sketch or its probably that im just too lazy to look for a better venue.  But the hippy redhead girl that works there recognized me as a local artist since i had left a sketch in the starbucks tip jar one day so i felt compelled to sketch something and post it to their cafe bulletin board.

it's a Christolph Waltz that i rushed through simply because i knew that i wanted to leave something there at the cafe because i had been called out as an artist but i think with more time i could have been happier with it.

but i moved onto working with something new this weekend since i couldnt get out to the art show

not so much a step by step but the steps i took

The Pervert Show

The Alternative Gallery is doing a show this month, tonight in fact.

Pervert 2 - a sequel to their first pervert show.

I made a flip-book for the show, it didnt turn out quite right as i was rushing around to cut and glue the damn thing together but it was my first attempt at a flip book since i was 5.

However the animated gif that I made from the images (photoshop & image ready) turned out quite well.  It took up all my saturday finishing it and I still had to cut out some things for time but please enjoy...

fact time: I might add that after watching this scene over and over again I realized one thing...

1.) this song 's lyrics were practically taken from the basic instinct interrogation scene - you probably aren't familiar with that song, i heard it on a friends myspace page years ago and the lyrics were out there enough that i kazaa'ed it.

I hate that song today.  I think i may have liked it for a month but much like myspace and kazaa, that song should be buried.

Art Update 10/16/13

I've gotten some compliments on my penwork so i'm sticking with it - a series of 3 food themed prints also incorporating old skool slogans that randomly ring through my head as i'm wandering around my life of work, drinking and getting fat =)

this one will probably be titled 'Chewing the Fat'

My only gripe is that i'm not shooting my own reference...yet.  This will have to change once I get a studio space, hopefully at the old Cigar Factory in Allentown (4th & Tilghman).

I just dropped off a few framed pieces for the show this thurs (10/17/13) and u can see the piece above.  I love how the frame looks on this and i reeeeally want to keep it and hope it doesn't sell.  But i'm hoping to house most of my art at the Alternative Gallery there, come check me out!
